Spowdi’s mission is to ignite a farming evolution for a positive global impact
There are about 500 million small-hold farms worldwide, employing up to two billion people. While small-hold farms use land and resources more efficiently, they are most susceptible to climate change and depleting water tables. This needs to change.
To make our food systems sustainable and feed a growing population, small-hold farmers must be able to grow more food with less water and move away from fossil fuels.
At Spowdi, we are igniting an agricultural evolution powered by the sun to enable farmers towards an independent and profitable livelihood.
Our mission aligns with the Global Goals formulated by the UN
In our efforts to provide fossil-free, regenerative farming, that is powered by the sun, Spowdi is empowering small-hold farmers towards improved livelihoods, better food production, greater independence and profitability. Our goals are aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals formulated by the United Nations, specifically:
No Poverty
Spowdi’s mission is to enable greater independence and higher profitability for small-hold farmers and their families worldwide, with a secure and increased food production, without dependencies on fossil fuel.
Zero Hunger
Spowdi is enabling a regenerative farming evolution with minimized water use, for increased and better crop yield at a lower cost, to make local food accessible and affordable for a growing population worldwide.
Gender Equality
With the Water Drop Initiative, together with SHL Medical, Spowdi is working to enable economic growth and independence for women micro-entrepreneurs in India by training SEWA sisters in Spowdi Smart Farming methods.
Clean Water and Sanitation
Spowdi’s Smart Farming methods, together with our greentech innovation is proven to generate higher crop yield with significantly less water, compared with traditional flood farming methods. With that, we contribute towards a more efficient use of water.
Affordable and Clean Energy
Spowdi enables small-hold farms and food producers, such as the fishing industry, to move and save water with help from the sun, thereby reducing dependencies on fossil fuels and moving towards clean and affordable energy.

Decent Work and Economic Growth
The Spowdi system enables farmers to become more profitable as their harvests increase while removing input costs such as diesel or other fossil fuels. The system also lessens the amount of manual labour, enabling farmers to free up time for other income-generating activities.

Climate Action
As the Spowdi system is powered solely by solar power, it does not emit CO2, unlike other fossil fuel driven pumps. It enables farmers to become less fossil fuel dependent and to use their land more efficiently as harvests increase. Smart Farming further lessens the stress on water resources as less water is required.
Partnerships for the Goals
To create a positive impact on people and the planet with new technology we need partners. At Spowdi we focus on partnerships for a sustainable ecosystem worldwide, with farmers, communities, NGOs, governments & organizations, to build trust for a greener tomorrow.
Emphasising the importance of small-hold farmers and addressing global challenges
At Spowdi, we hold a fundamental belief in highlighting not only the challenges we are facing, but also the individuals who serve as catalysts for change, the true impact generators. Celebrating International Days, such as World Water Day and International Day of Rural Women, provides a valuable platform to bring awareness to crucial themes and the importance of finding sustainable solutions for the future. Below are a few examples of how Spowdi commemorates some of these days to shed light on important issues.
